Bible Book Club taster event

On Thursday 23 April we are hosting a ‘taster event’ for anyone interested in learning more about how to make sense of the Bible.

Sales of Bibles have been rising in the past few years, alongside evidence of increasing interest in Christian spirituality. But the Bible is a weird book – or rather a collection of books – written many centuries ago. What relevance does it have today – to our lives and families, global conflicts, climate concerns, economics, justice issues and so on? How do we interpret it? It is sometimes weaponised against those we disagree with. How can we avoid this and face its challenges ourselves? Where do we start?

We are planning to offer a Bible Book Club at Amott Road Baptist Church – opportunities to read parts of the Bible together and share what we are learning and what questions this raises. No preaching but relaxed and open conversation.

The taster event is open to all – come and find out more. Help shape what we do together.
